Lifeline- Low Income Support

WHAT IS LIFELINE?

Lifeline is a government program offering qualified low income households a discount on unlimited basic telephone service with the availability of long distance restrictions. The Federal Communication Commission’s Lifeline Program (Lifeline) offers a monthly discount of $9.25.   The discount applies to only one telephone number per household. Lifeline discount can now be applied towards your internet service, but you can only receive a discount on ONE option – phone or internet.

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Consumers must meet income requirements or participate in one of the following programs to be eligible: 

  • Medicaid
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
  • Supplemental Security Income 
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
  • Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit

HOW TO APPLY?

  • Apply for Lifeline through your local telephone company. To contact RTI customer service call 1-888-366-7821.
